JESUS FEEDING THE 5,000 ALTERNATE LOCATION
After reading the four Gospels, one may consider there is a chance that the feeding of the five thousand took place on the lower slopes of Mt. Arbel or one of the flat places at its foot.
The place was in a location a little to the south of Magdala and in an area where those in the villages of the Gennesaret Plain would have been able to see Jesus disciples' boat and run ahead arriving there first. It was not so far into the desert that the people could not have been able to go to the nearby villages to get food as in the feeding of the 4,000 account that probably took place on the coast south of Bethsaida. There was also a morning wind that blew from the east, that might have given the disciples difficulty and caused them to go ashore at Gennesaret as discussed in two of the Gospels.
The church of Tabgha is about four miles east of the northern beaches of Mt. Arbel. Tabgha is right around the corner from the Gennesaret plain. Tabgha is the church commemorating the spot where the miracle took place. One tradition places the feeding at this spot, yet this tradition is contrary to most of the data in the Gospels.
